Billy "Club Rider" McGinty
Billy has been riding for a while. He just upgraded his first bike to something made of carbon and can be seen decked out in a full club kit these days. His fitness is growing and although he is not off the front on any of the club rides, he can pretty much always sit in the pack and not get dropped. Riding is fun but not a lifestyle (yet). He is always up for a good few hours in the saddle but lets not make this an all day affaire.
A little twist on the Great Western Loop that will shake up your riding and give you a 30-40 minute climb.
When in North County do as the North Counties do - go inland!
Highland Valley Road was featured in the 2009 Tour of California. Get a feel for the tour on this short loop through Highland Valley Road.
Torrey, La Jolla Shores, and Soledad in a single ride. Good climbing without straying too far from the city or coast.
Miss this one and you dumped it. End of story. The Great Western Loop is rite of passage for all San Diego Cyclists as it is the most accessible San Diego Mountain ride.
This is a classic San Diego North County route that everyone does at one point or another. This route will challenge the new club rider but the hills are just steep enough they are manageable for those who have been riding a while.
