The DEFINITION of what a local bike shop should be!
View Adams Avenue Bicycles in a larger map
From the outside Adams might seem like an urban bike shop geared toward cruisers, steel bikes, and single speeds. Well, from the inside it looks that way too but don't let the bearded dudes behind the desk and in the shop fool you. These guys know their stuff and they will Colnago you senseless if you think that they don't know their Italian bikes.
The owner, Andrew Lee, is a fixture in the road and track scene here in San Diego and he has created a bike shop that should give you pause every time you want to order something on line. Come here a few times and you will want to support every thing they do.
You know that bearded staff we just talked about? Well they are also likely the most friendly and helpful crew in San Diego. Where else are you going to ask for something and they will take the time to sell you something else just as good but less expensive? Where else are you going to be able to roll in with a broken cable and have them drop what they are doing (which might be drinking a beer with the boys) and get you sorted out immediately?
