From The Mappy Thing: Carmichael Training Systems this is not! You wont find any mail order, cookie cutter, fitness promises here. Uh uh. The Slow Step philosophy is simple. You train to much and you are beating your head against the wall. For most of us the secret is getting organized, training less, and focusing on the basics. This program has been tested with world class cyclists and triathletes. Signing on with Vince is a no brainer. However, your coach will be riding on the road with you - there is no hiding. You have been warned.

From the Slow Step Website: The SLOW-STEP training programs are designed for the cyclist that is serious about getting faster. Racers and other serious cyclists are all welcome.  During the program cyclists will be taken through a focused, time-tested training program, that will isolate and develop the systems needed to become a better cyclist. The programs are tailored to the individual cyclist. All cyclists (including top racers) will benefit from the programs.

Vince's Favorite Ride: The Kitchen Creek to Julian ride has got to be my favorite. Where else can you get serious climbs, open roads, and not even travel too far from the city. During our 22-week training program we will hit Kitchen Creek and do big gear intervals all the way to the top. After a stop at the store, we will ride a solid tempo paceline to Julian. After some cookies and pie and a climb over engineers it is all down hill for a race simulation back to the park and ride. What else do you need in a training ride?
